Privacy Policy — K Music
Last updated: 17 September 2026
K Music is a music player for the songs already stored on your phone. This
page explains exactly what the app does and does not send anywhere.
Your music stays on your phone
K Music reads the audio files on your device so it can list and play them,
and reads the tags inside them (title, artist, album, cover art, lyrics) so it
can show them. No song, cover, lyric, file name, folder name or file
path is ever uploaded, copied off the device, or shared with anyone.
Playback, playlists, favourites, play history and the equalizer settings all
live only on your phone.
What the app does send
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) — when the app
stops unexpectedly, a technical report is sent so the fault can be fixed.
It contains the error, the device model and the Android version.
- Anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for
Firebase) — how often the app is opened and which screens are used, and,
when a file cannot be played, its audio format (for example
mp3, flac) and a duration range. This is how we
learn which formats need support. Song titles, file names and
paths are never included.
- Advertising (Google AdMob) — the app shows ads, and the
ads SDK collects a device advertising identifier and approximate,
IP-derived location to select and measure them. In the EEA, the UK and
Switzerland you are asked for consent before any ad is requested.
- Settings delivery (Firebase Remote Config) — the app
fetches configuration values such as whether ads are shown. No personal
data is sent.
What the app never collects
- Your name, email address, phone number or contacts
- Your precise location
- The contents, names or locations of your files
- Your listening history — it stays on the device
- Any account — K Music has no sign-in
Permissions and why
- Music and audio — to find and play the songs on your
device. This is the app's core function.
- Notifications — for the playback controls shown while
music plays in the background.
- Internet — for ads, crash reports, statistics and
settings delivery. Playback itself never uses the network.
Children
K Music is not directed at children under 13.
Third-party services
The services above have their own policies:
Your choices
You can reset or delete the advertising identifier in Android Settings →
Privacy → Ads. You can withdraw the music permission at any time in Android
Settings → Apps → K Music → Permissions. Uninstalling the app removes
everything it stored on your device.
